Cindy Hanks, M.A., MFT

Serving Trinity as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1997. Cindy, with all of her experience, has a passion to professionally counsel others in becoming all they can be and excel in their relationships with God, self and others.

Cindy is an AAMFT approved supervisor; and she has mentored other licensed MFT therapist in this area. She is a National Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor (MI). Since 2007, she has taught at the graduate level of the MS/Counseling/MFCT program. Cindy was area chair for four years, and is currently in a faculty advisor position. She is a Clinician on duty at the University of Phoenix Counseling Skills Center and has been involved in workshops, research and  seminars involving Moral Development, Religious Values and Counseling, Mental Health Facilitation, as well as other topics. She has been a guest speaker at women's conferences, including the NW Native American Woman's Conference.

Cindy has facilitated support groups and educational groups over the past several years and along with Pat Clark in 1994, formed the S.A.V.E. group at Trinity Life Center.

Experienced as a counselor, Cindy has worked as a Case Manager over 25 years with individuals diagnosed with Developmental Disability; Chronic Mental Illness; and other disabilities. Cindy retired from the State of Nevada in 2009.  All fees are on sliding scale.

• Cindy taught at Bethany University in 2006, and began teaching at National University as lead faculty in the Clinical Psychology/MFT program, and University of Phoenix MA/Counseling program in 2007.

• She was Area Chair for the Masters of Science in Counseling with Marriage and Family Therapy Emphasis Program through the University of Phoenix for four years, then changed to Faculty Advisor. She has worked as a clinician on duty at the university counseling skills center since 2010..

• Cindy, is currently writing a book

Cindy and Wes have been married almost 33 years. They have a son, Andrew, who is 26, married, working as a social worker with a hospice agency, and starting his MSW program.  His wife, Kayle, is a chemical biological engineer, who is also completing her program in entomology.  Both are Evangel University graduates, as well as Cindy. Cindy received her undergrad degree from Evangel in 1978. Her Master's was received from Oakland University in Rochester, Mi. in 1985.
